AKRON, Ohio -- RubberDucks hitters had no answers for Trenton right-hander Yefry Ramirez and two relievers, getting only four hits on their way to an 8-0 defeat Tuesday at Canal Park.
Ramirez (4-0, 3.38 ERA) was dominant, striking out 10 and giving up 10 hits in five innings. He was in trouble only once, with Akron loading the bases with two outs in the fourth inning, but Ramirez struck out Eric Stamets to end the inning.
He left the game after the fifth inning after striking out the side.
It was tougher outing for Akron right-hander D.
