AKRON, Ohio -- Little went right for the RubberDucks on Monday, who mustered only three hits and had two errors in a 9-1 loss to the Erie SeaWolves at Canal Park.
Erie took a 1-0 lead in the third inning off left-hander Luis Lugo and built it to 6-0 by the fifth inning. Lugo (4-5, 5.12 ERA) went five innings, giving up six runs, four earned, and seven hits. He struck out six.
Francisco Mejia had two of the RubberDucks' three hits and prevented a shutout with a solo homer in the ninth inning.
