Akron RubberDucks can't hold on in loss to Altoona Curve

ALTOONA, Pennsylvania -- The Akron RubberDucks stuck with the Curve through six innings, but Altoona scored three runs late to pull away to a 9-5 win Thursday.

Akron trailed, 2-0, entering the third inning, but tied it with an RBI triple from Mark Mathias and an RBI single from Joe Sever.

It was a tough outing for RubberDucks right-hander Nick Pasquale (3-5, 4.82 ERA), who gave up six runs, five earned, and five hits in 3 2/3 innings.

Akron took a brief 5-3 lead in the fourth. Yu-Cheng Chang hit a two-run double and Tyler Krieger had an RBI single.
