A Baseball Fairy Tale in San Juan

Let’s say you want to write a bedtime story for young ballplayers. Maybe your hero is a talented kid who hails from, oh, let’s say Puerto Rico but he moves to Florida at age 12 with his father and step mother and sister to get his sister better medical care. Our young hero plays baseball at a boarding school and learns English and becomes a major league ballplayer. And let’s say his team happens to be part of the first regular season MLB games played in Puerto Rico in eight years. Just to add to the drama, maybe Puerto Rico is still struggling to recover from a devastating hurricane months earlier.
