The Cleveland Indians have been near the bottom of the AL Central all season, but there is still plenty of intrigue surrounding the team as we approach the trade deadline. Here are three rumors you need to know:
Will Carlos Santana be traded?
The Indians have been relatively quiet on any possible trade rumors, but Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal writes that Santana could be on the market for "strategically-minded teams" due to his high walk rate:
Santana has hit just .218 with nine homers, 36 RBI’s, 51 walks, and a .356 on-base percentage through 65 games.
Indians interested in Yasiel Puig?
Cleveland desperately needs another bat in their lineup, and with Puig's antics wearing on the Dodgers, he may be available. Los Angeles has yet to officially put Puig on the market, but SB Nation's Matt Lyons makes the case why the Indians should pursue him:
Cleveland not interested in trading Mike Aviles
Many expect the Indians to be sellers at the trade deadline because of their lackluster record, but one player they won't give up is Mike Aviles, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Terry Pluto:Back to the Cleveland Guardians Newsfeed
