LeBron James has potential to be the league’s all-time leading scorer

LeBron James has been as impressive as ever in his 15th season, averaging 27-8-9. Currently, with 29,959 career points, LeBron approaches the 30,000 point milestone while still in his prime.

This upcoming achievement should not be overlooked or taken for granted. However, it’s time to entertain the idea of him becoming the all-time leading scorer which currently is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387).

Barring the idea of LeBron missing a significant portion of any of the future seasons, I did some number crunching to see what it would take for him to become the all-time leading scorer.

If LeBron averages 26 points over the remaining 39 games, (assuming he plays in all of them) he will add another 1,014 points on top of his current 1,172 points this season.
