Larry Sanders in Cleveland, likely to sign with Cavaliers Monday

(Chuck Crow)

HOUSTON -- Larry Sanders is in Cleveland and will probably sign a free-agent contract with the Cavs for the rest of this season and a team option for next, a source with knowledge of the negotiation told cleveland.com.

The Cavs will most likely waive Andrew Bogut to clear a roster space for Sanders, the source said. Cleveland can't offer Sanders anything above the NBA minimum salary, which for someone with Sanders' experience (five seasons) would be a pro-rated amount from $1.1 million.

All of these moves are expected Monday, though they have not yet been signed off on by all the powers that be within the organization.
