CLEVELAND– Kevin Love remains in the NBA’s concussion protocol and his status for Game 1 of the NBA Finals has not yet been determined.
Head coach Tyronn Lue confirmed the news during a conference call with reporters on Tuesday.
Love was injured in the first quarter of Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals last Friday when he collided heads with Jayson Tatum. He was not active for Game 7 on Sunday as a result. Jeff Green started in the All-Star power forward’s place and scored 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds.
Game 1 of the NBA Finals is Thursday night in Oakland as the Cavaliers will take on the Golden State Warriors for the fourth straight year.
