How Tristan Thompson's games-played streak of 447 compares to longest in NBA, other major sports

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson will miss a game for the first time since his rookie season on Wednesday when the team faces the Boston Celtics.

That snaps a streak of 447 consecutive games played, which dates to the 2011-12 season. Thompson became the NBA's active leader in consecutive games played in the 2015-16 season, passing Clippers center DeAndre Jordan.

But he would've needed to almost triple his record to match A.C. Green. During his lengthy career, Green played in 1,192 consecutive games.

Second to Green is Randy Smith, who had a streak of 906 straight games played.
