Dan Gilbert and the Cleveland Cavaliers organization proudly join DonorsChoose.org in the #BestSchoolDay movement today. The Cavs are happy to help by funding the project requests of participating public school teachers across Cuyahoga County, Akron and Canton.
Through the one-day “flash funded” #BestSchoolDay program on Thursday, more than $14 million dollars of classroom needs are being met in 47 states and Washington, D.C. thanks to the support of donors like Dan Gilbert and the Cavs organization. Founded in 2000, DonorsChoose.org makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Teachers at 69% percent of all the public schools in America have created project requests and more than 18 million students — most from low-income communities - have received books, art supplies, field trips, technology, and other resources that they need to learn.
