Cleveland Cavaliers: David Blatt diagnosed with multiple sclerosis

Some unfortunate and somber news was passed down this morning by former Cleveland Cavaliers and current Olympiacos basketball club head coach David Blatt. Blatt announced on the Olympiacos basketball club’s team website that he has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

Here is the definition of multiple sclerosis courtesy of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) involves an immune-mediated process in which an abnormal response of the body’s immune system is directed against the central nervous system (CNS). The CNS is made up of the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves.

Some of the more common symptoms of MS include fatigue, difficulty walking, weakness, dizziness and vertigo, and many others.
