Depending on who you ask, the Cavaliers either are or aren’t in a standoff with Tristan Thompson when it comes to his contract extension. Some out there will for some reason argue to the death that the two sides have agreed on a deal but it’s semantics that are keeping pen from paper. That’s a convoluted and overly optimistic way of saying that there’s a standoff where Rich Paul will not accept anything less than a max deal from Cleveland and the Cavs aren’t offering more than $80 million.
