2 goals for suggested FA target Josh Jackson if he ends up with Cavs

Previously suggested free agent target Josh Jackson would be a nice addition for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

To be clear here, I wouldn’t fault the Cleveland Cavaliers if they ended up bringing back the expiring Tristan Thompson this upcoming offseason, feasibly via one-year deal.

According to a report from Cleveland.com’s Chris Fedor (subscription required), one source of Fedor’s/Cleveland.com said that they believe Thompson being back next season is ’50-50,” so perhaps Thompson will be back.

Fedor did also note how the Cavaliers do have Thompson’s “Bird Rights,” and could exceed the seemingly estimated $8-9 million or so mid-level exception to compensate Thompson without going into luxury tax territory.
