Cavs Top Hawks 104-93, Take Game 1 Of Series

The Cleveland Cavaliers took Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals with a 104-93 win over the Atlanta Hawks. It was an 11-point lead after the first quarter, but the Hawks managed to make it a game. 

It was tied at 86 with 5:23 minutes to play, and the Hawks took a lead at one point. However, the Cavs pulled away in the final few minutes to pick up the win. James had several big buckets late. 

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving did most of the heavy-lifting for the Cavs. James had 25 points, six rebounds, nine assists and five steals. Irving had 21 points and eight assists. Kevin Love had 17, but was just 4 of 17 from the field. J.R. Smith had 12 points on 4 of 7 shooting, with every shot coming from beyond arc. 

It was a three-headed offensive attack for the Hawks. Dennis Schroder led the way with 27 points, three rebounds and six assists. Kent Bazemore had 16 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Paul Millsap had a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards. 

Game 2 of the series is set for Thursday in Cleveland. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET.
