Cavs Sweep Hawks With 100-99 Win To Advance To Eastern Conference Finals

The Cleveland Cavaliers were on fire from long range again in Game 4, making 16 three-pointers on their way to a 100-99 win over the Atlanta Hawks. It's the second straight year the Cavs have knocked the Hawks out of the playoffs with a sweep.

Atlanta came out and played with the energy you would expect from a team facing elimination, leading by as many as nine points in the first half, but they led just 58-56 at the half.

The two sides continued to trade the lead back and forth throughout the second half, and the Hawks held a slim 97-96 lead with just over a minute and a half remaining. However, LeBron James responded with four straight points to give Cleveland the lead back. A late bucket from Dennis Schroder cut the deficit to one, but Atlanta wasn't able to convert on their final possession as the Cavs held on for the win.

Kevin Love had a monster night with 27 points (8/15 from three) and 13 rebounds to lead the Cavaliers. Kyrie Irving had 21 points and eight assists, while James nearly had another triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

Schroder came off the bench to lead the Hawks with 21 points - including 13 in the fourth quarter, but it ultimately wasn't enough. Thabo Sefolosha also had 16 points, while Paul Millsap added 19.

The Cavs now advance to face the winner of the Raptors-Heat series in the Eastern Conference Finals.
