Cavs, LeBron Make History In 135-102 Win Over Celtics, Advance To NBA Finals

The Cleveland Cavaliers are going back to the NBA Finals, winning the Eastern Conference after beating the Boston Celtics, 135-102.

However, the biggest event from the game may have come from LeBron James, who passed Michael Jordan to become the NBA's all-time leading scorer in the postseason.

James finished the game with 35 points, eight rebounds and eight assists to lead the Cavs. He is now going to the Finals for the seventh straight season, which is the most since Bill Russell's Celtics.

Cleveland also made some team history tonight. They set franchise playoff records with 43 points in the first quarter and 75 points in the first half, setting the stage for this blowout. A 26-11 run by the Cavs to close the third quarter is what officially put this game away.

Kyrie Irving had his second consecutive great game for the Cavs with 24 points and seven assists, and played a big role in that third-quarter run.

Kevin Love also continued his hot streak with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Deron Williams gave the Cavs a spark off the bench with 14 points (all of which came in the first half).

Boston lost all three games at home in this series, and never had a lead at any point in any of those games. Avery Bradley led the way for the Celtics with 23 points, but he was the lone bright spot for the Celtics.

Cleveland will face the Golden State Warriors in the Finals for the third consecutive season. Game 1 of the Finals will not be until June 1. Tip-off time is set for 9:00 pm on ABC.
