Lue was 128-83 with the Cavaliers, with 3 straight Finals berths. The Cavs won one title, although few in the NBA gave much credit to Lue for the Cavs' success.

Larry Drew is set to take over as the interim head coach. This is the second time Drew has served as the Cavs' interim head coach, as he went 8-1 during Lue's medical absence last year.

Drew has also served as the head coach of the Bucks and the Hawks. Drew went 128-102 with the Hawks from 2010-13, making the playoffs each year. He was replaced by Mike Budenholzer after his contract expired. He then coached the Bucks for one season, but struggled and posted a 15-67 record.
