Cavs Corner: Inside The Cleveland Cavaliers This Week

The Cleveland Cavaliers have won six games in a row after losing their opener, and there are no signs that they're going to slow down anytime soon. Let's get you up to speed with the week that was and the week ahead with our Cavs Corner weekly update:

The Week That Was

Cleveland started the week with a one-game road trip to Philadelphia, where they used a near triple-double from LeBron James - who also scored his 25,000th career point in the game - to pull out a narrow seven-point victory thanks to a second-half comeback. They once again used a strong second-half to pull away from the New York Knicks in primetime on Wednesday night.

They capped the week by hosting the 76ers on Friday night, where they pulled out another narrow victory. Their weekend game came today against the Indiana Pacers, who held a lead late in the fourth quarter before LeBron took over the game down the stretch and gave the Cavs a 101-97 win.

What's Next?

Cleveland only has three games next week compared to the four they had this past week, but the last two are in Cleveland's second back-to-back of the season.

The Cavs will welcome the Utah Jazz to Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday night, hoping to get the leg up in the first of two games between the teams this year.

Cleveland will then start a three-game road trip on Friday, taking on the Knicks in Madison Square Garden before facing the upstart Bucks in Milwaukee on Saturday.

Injuries

Point guard Kyrie Irving is still out for the foreseeable future with a broken kneecap he suffered in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, and he isn't expect to return until mid- to late-December.

As for shooting guard Iman Shumpert, he had the cast removed from his right wrist this week and is now just wearing a splint, keeping him on pace to return to action in January. His replacement, J.R. Smith, is expected to return Tuesday against the Jazz.

LeBron James played through a bruised thigh today against the Pacers so he shouldn't miss any time with that injury.
