Instant Reaction: Pistons Shock Cavs With 103-80 Blowout Victory

Cleveland came out on fire and took a 28-17 lead after the first quarter, but Detroit responded with a big second quarter and led 50-47 at halftime. The Pistons continued to dominate in the second half, as they turned a close game into a blowout.

Turning Point:

Detroit took control of the game in the third quarter when they went on a huge 18-0 run, turning a 43-32 deficit into a 50-43 advantage.

Key Stat:

The Cavs really struggled to shoot the ball from behind the arc in this one (5/29, 17.2%), which took them out of their usual rhythm on offense and really hindered their comeback effort.

Cleveland MVP:

Kevin Love was really the only Cavalier who made a positive impact in this game, scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. LeBron James was at the center of the struggle, shooting only 5/19 from the field.

Detroit MVP:

Brandon Jennings absolutely dominated this game, dropping 25 points on surprisingly efficient shooting (10/18). Center Andre Drummond also had a huge impact, scoring 16 points while grabbing 17 rebounds.

What’s Next?

Cleveland hits the road to face the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, while Detroit will look to extend their winning streak Tuesday against the Orlando Magic.
