Instant Reaction: Cavs Get Back To .500 With 109-102 Win Over Lakers

Cleveland and Los Angeles played a back-and-forth first half in which either team was never able to get an advantage, and ended with the Lakers taking a 61-57 lead at the break. The Cavs then seized control in the second half and pulled away in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Turning Point:

The game was tied when Cleveland went on a 13-3 run from the end of the third quarter to the start of the fourth, finally giving them a cushion. They were able to maintain the lead the rest of the way as they held on for the win.

Key Stat:

The Cavs were able to win this game because of their aggressiveness on the offensive side of the ball, which can be shown in their free throw attempts. They went 26/36 from the line as a team in this one, which made up for another poor defensive effort.

Cleveland MVP:

LeBron James showed why he's the difference maker for the Cavs, dropping 36 points while grabbing five rebounds and dishing out five assists. Kyrie Irving also had a good night with 22 points.

Los Angeles MVP:

Kobe Bryant showed off his playmaking skills, setting a career high with 17 assists while scoring 19 points.

Bryant's previous career high of 15 assists came in 2002 against Michael Jordan and the Washington Wizards.
