Cleveland Cavs: Cavs to re-sign Spencer Hawes?

In the world of the Cleveland Cavs today, the Cavs may make a run at trying to re-sign center Spencer Hawes, especially in light of the probability that they will lose Luol Deng to free agency.

Per Andrew Melnick of FanSided.com, Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer says the Cleveland Cavs may make Spencer Hawes their first priority this offseason: "Other than Deng, the other major player is Spencer Hawes, who the Cavs want back. Griffin values big men who can pass and shoot. The Cavs have been asking Hawes to shoot even more."

Spencer Hawes has been a revelation since coming to Cleveland, averaging 14 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. He is also spreading out the floor, shooting lights out from beyond the arc at a 45.7% clip.

The Cleveland Cavs acquired Hawes from the Philadelphia 76ers before the NBA trade deadline this season, giving up forward Earl Clark, Henry Sims, and a couple of draft picks in the deal.
