Cavs News: Cleveland's Front Office Ranked 16th In NBA By ESPN

The Cleveland Cavs have a decided average front office -- at least that's what ESPN thinks.

After ranking the Cavs' brass 27th out of 30 NBA teams in 2013-14, ESPN moved the Cavs up 11 sports to #16 in this year's edition of the rankings.

How exactly did they evaluate GM David Griffin, owner Dan Gilbert, and the rest of the team's front office? Here's ESPN's breakdown of the procedure:

We asked our ESPN Forecast panel to rate every team's owner, basketball decision-maker(s) and coach from 0 to 10, and we then asked the panel to tell us how important each role is.

In particular, we asked the voters to rate each team's front-office management on its guidance and leadership in terms of how it affects overall on-court success, both in the short and long term. From there, we calculated the ratings to determine the NBA's best and worst front offices.

Taking into account Cleveland's whirlwind year of roster change (headlined, of course, by LeBron James' return), it appears ESPN's experts are taking a wait-and-see approach before vaulting the Cavs further up the rankings.
