Cavs NBA Draft Rumors: Everything You Need To Know Heading Into Thursday

We are just one day away from the 2015 NBA Draft, which means we're just one day away from reaching an end to all the speculation surrounding the Cleveland Cavs' #24 and #53 picks. With that being said, here's everything Cavs fans need to know heading into Thursday's draft showcase.

Kevin Love opt out to affect draft strategy?

League sources have tell ESPN.com that the Lakers and the Celtics are among the group of teams readying to make a run at the recently opted-out Kevin Love in free agency. Those same sources add that the Portland Trail Blazers are also in the mix.

With that being said, it's possible (if not entirely plausible) that the Cavs' draft plans could reflect the market surrounding Love, provided that the front office feels at least somewhat threatened by the list of options readying to vie for the big man's services come July 1st.

Cavs have plenty of options at #24?

Just like any draft season, the Cleveland Cavs have a multitude of options to consider with their first-round pick.

Via Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio:

1. They can keep the guy and let him develop while playing next to LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and the rest.

2. They can draft the guy for someone else, and trade him. For instance, if the San Antonio Spurs really want someone who has fallen to 24th, they can ask the Cavs to take him. Then the Spurs can give the Cavs whoever they take at No. 26, and perhaps some change. (That's all totally hypothetical, by the way.)

3. The Cavs can try to package the pick, along with lovable center Brendan Haywood and his salary-cap blessing of a contract when free agency hits in July.

Golden State as a draft day trade partner?

The Cavs have been linked to Golden State Warriors forward David Lee in trade rumors over the past few days, and such a trade could involve the aforementioned Brendan Haywood and the #24 pick.

"The one thing that we did see in Golden State, and it was something that was very difficult for us to deal with, is they have an incredibly versatile team of multiple facilitating playmakers," GM David Griffin said. "That's something we're going to continue to work upon. The more playmaking facilitators you have that know how to play the game, the better off you are, and I think you saw the value of that in the team that ultimately did win."
