The Cleveland Cavaliers are still reveling in their NBA title, but they're ready to turn their attention to next season. They won't enter the year as title favorites - that distinction belongs to the Golden State Warriors - but there is more than enough intrigue surrounding the Cavs. Here are the top 3 storylines going into next season.
1) Will there be a championship hangover?
Winning the first NBA championship in franchise history and ending a 52-year drought can take a lot out of a team, so no one would be surprised if it took the Cavaliers a while to get out of celebration mode. Golden State blew that notion out of the water with their 24-0 start last season, and Cleveland could also come out on fire to steal some of the headlines away from the Warriors. Seeing how they start the season will be something to keep an eye on.
2) Will Kevin Love finally fit in?
The Kevin Love saga has taken a bit of a backseat with Cleveland winning the title, but it's only a matter of time until his name is thrown right back into trade rumors - unless he somehow finds a way to finally find a comfortable role with the Cavs. Winning a title should do a lot for his confidence, yet it's also clear he wasn't anything more than a glorified role player in the playoffs.
3) How will they stack up with the Warriors?
They've been mentioned a lot in this article, and they will be throughout the entire season - the Cavs will be constantly measured against the Warriors throughout the entire season. The addition of Kevin Durant puts Golden State ahead of Cleveland - on paper - in the title race, and they appear set to meet in the Finals for a third straight season.
