Today we take another look at an Outside Zone play. Though the running back will often appear to make a “cutback” on this play it is important to understand the actual track of the running back and how horizontal displacement works to keep him on his track.
Running backs who fit this system will be labeled “one cut” runners, and need to make instantaneous, decisive movements based off a read of the defense.
