Myles Garrett is AFC Defensive Player of the Week

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.

In what might be the easiest selection of the season, the NFL selected Garrett for the weekly honor after he had a franchise-record 4.5 sacks against the Chicago Bears in Sunday’s 26-6 victory.

In addition to the sacks, which broke the team’s single-game record that had been held by linebacker Andra Davis since 2003, Garrett finished with seven tackles, including four tackles for loss.

That was part of a big day from Cleveland’s defense, which totaled nine sacks of Chicago quarterback Justin Fields, and limited the Bears to 47 net yards of offense and one net passing yard, both single-game franchise records, and just one-of-11 on third downs.
