Mike McCarthy Fired in Green Bay – Will He Be the Next Head Coach of the Browns?

In a move that is surprising based on the timing, the Green Bay Packers have fired head coach Mike McCarthy, this after losing Sunday afternoon 20-17 at home to the Arizona Cardinals.

The loss dropped Green Bay to 4-7-1 on the season. McCarthy was the third longest tenured head coach in the NFL behind Bill Belichick of the Patriots and Marvin Lewis of the Bengals.

McCarthy has a career record of 125-77-2 and led Green Bay to a victory in Super Bowl XLV in a win in Dallas over the Steelers, along with three other NFC Championship appearances.
