Mack Wilson’s surprising fall in the 2019 NFL Draft paid off for the Cleveland Browns as they were able to draft a player widely seen as one of the better linebackers in the class in the fifth round.
Wilson came from the defensive powerhouse of Alabama, a school who has traditionally become a breeding ground for productive NFL defensive players. But entering the draft, there was some disappointment about Wilson’s play for the Crimson Tide, hurting his draft stock.
2018 was supposed to be the season Wilson shined for the Alabama defense as he would receive increased playing time.
