Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, citing a source with knowledge of the situation, reports that veteran WR Kenny Britt is hoping to sign on with a playoff contender if he clears waivers on Monday.
Florio points out that if Britt does, in fact, pass through waivers unclaimed, he can collect the balance of his pay from the Browns as termination pay on top of whatever he receives from another team, so Cleveland is obviously hoping someone will claim him.
A team worth keeping an eye on for Britt, according to Florio, is the Patriots, considering that they targeted a number of Rutgers players in the past.
