On Monday, coach Mike Pettine said McCown did nothing in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Oakland Raiders to cause the staff to reconsider the conversation about McCown and backup quarterback Johnny Manziel.
So McCown will start Sunday when the Browns (1-2) visit the San Diego Chargers (1-2), assuming his injured right hand doesn't hold him back. McCown said it won't.
When McCown met with reporters earlier Monday, he had a cut on the top of his throwing hand, it was swollen and his ring finger was wrapped.
However, McCown insisted he feels fine and won't miss any practice time because of the injury.
