Josh Gordon's petition for reinstatement denied by NFL

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Browns receiver Josh Gordon's petition for reinstatement has been denied the NFL, but he can reapply in the fall, a league source told cleveland.com.

Even if he is reinstated, it's doubtful the Browns will give him another chance. A source told cleveland.com in March that they'll likely try to trade him or possibly even release him. They have his rights for two more years after he's reinstated.

The Browns have given Gordon numerous chances, and he hasn't been able to stay on the field for them. He's been suspended for 43 of their last 48 games, and hasn't seen the field since Dec.
