Josh Gordon can be activated today, but Browns will likely wait until Friday

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Browns can activate Josh Gordon beginning today, but will likely wait until later in the week to preserve the roster spot.

Gordon, who was conditionally reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Nov. 1, is expected to play Sunday in Los Angeles against the Chargers, but the Browns have until Saturday to activate him for that game.

With the club set to travel on Friday, they're likely to activate before they leave off the Commissioner's Exempt list.

The rule states that he's eligible to return to active status today, or remain on the exempt list for an additional week.
