Jimmy Haslam decides it can't be Sashi Brown in charge of franchise's key offseason

BEREA, Ohio -- Jimmy Haslam's message in his statement about the firing of Executive Vice President of Player Personnel Sashi Brown is fairly clear, saying he is "transitioning to someone with strong experience and success in drafting and building consistently winning football teams."

In other words, thanks for the draft picks, but we just can't trust you to use them.

Brown sold Haslam on a plan less than two years ago that involved taking a blowtorch to an aging, expensive roster, hoarding salary cap space and collecting draft picks at a level we have never seen before.
