Jamie Collins had his torn MCL repaired, full recovery expected

BEREA, Ohio -- Linebacker Jamie Collins made an appearance in the Browns' locker room on Wednesday in a full knee brace and walking on a crutch.

The Browns later announced that Collins underwent surgery two weeks ago to repair his torn right MCL.

The surgery was performed by noted orthopedic Dr. Robert Andrew in Pensacola, Fla., and a full recovery is expected.

Collins, 28, tore the ligament a 38-24 loss to the Lions Nov. 12 when he swiped a pass from Matt Stafford. Originally, it was unknown if he'd require surgery.

The only Pro Bowler on the active roster at the time of his injury and a team captain, the loss of Collins was a blow to the defense.
