In an NFL divided over analytics, Cleveland Browns look to make numbers add up in their favor

BEREA, Ohio – If the Browns had trusted the $100,000 analytical study they commissioned two years ago, the franchise would not be answering questions today about the escapades of "Billy" Manziel.

Former Browns CEO Joe Banner enlisted an outside firm to examine every NFL quarterback from the previous two decades to determine Teddy Bridgewater was the best selection for Cleveland in the NFL draft. Derek Carr also scored high. Johnny Manziel did not.

With Banner fired as part of the 2014 front-office purge, the Browns ignored the findings and chose the troubled Manziel, who last weekend reportedly partied in Las Vegas while Bridgewater helped the Vikings to the postseason.
