CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Hue Jackson wasted no time heading off a quarterback controversy, naming DeShone Kizer his starter despite yanking him during Sunday's 31-7 rout by the Bengals.
"DeShone Kizer is the quarterback,'' said Jackson. "I told him that, and I took him out because I didn't want to take a chance. I believe what this guy is going to be, so I didn't want to take a chance of leaving him in there and all of the sudden getting him injured.''
Jackson pulled Kizer with 6:30 left in the fourth quarter and the Brown trailing 31-0.
