CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Browns have been down this road before with Josh Gordon, of course -- welcoming him back from a suspension and hoping that he can help transform their offense. It’s what they’re hoping will happen Sunday when they play the Chargers.
The last time this happened was 2014, when the Browns were 6-4 and fighting for a playoff spot. Gordon was coming off of a 10-game suspension for a game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. It was unclear how much he would play that day, and the answer ended up being a lot.
The Browns escaped with a last-second victory, but Gordon’s season -- and the team’s -- fell apart after that.
