The Cleveland Browns are preparing for Week 3 in a precarious state. Rookie Cody Kessler is set to start Sunday’s game, while recently signed veteran Charlie Whitehurst will serve as his backup.
If Kessler, the third starting quarterback in three games this season, goes out with an injury, this season is all but over, not that it isn’t already.
Kessler also has the chance to prove he was worthy of the third-round pick spent on him, and that the Browns were not entirely stupid to pass on Carson Wentz, who has looked great in two games so far this season.
