The Cleveland Browns strong offseason continued as they were able to come to terms with yet another free agent. This time it was cornerback E.J. Gaines who put pen to paper as the team reunited defensive coordinator Gregg Williams with one of his former players.
A sixth-round pick of the then St. Louis Rams in 2014, Gaines played with Williams there and with the team when they moved to Los Angeles for the 2016 season. Both men were elsewhere in 2017 as Williams moved on following the firing of head coach Jeff Fisher and Gaines was later traded to the Buffalo Bills.
