Sound crazy for the Cleveland Browns to go for two signal callers in the 2018 NFL Draft? Maybe not, in fact, drafting two quarterbacks in one draft isn’t all that strange. Several teams have done it lately, including the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts.
Both those teams, however, drafted their second quarterback late in the draft. Those late picks were more for projects that the staff could potentially mold and use down the road if needed. There was no issue of two rookie quarterbacks realistically competing for the starting spot.
That was, until the Redskins and coach Mike Shanahan took two of the more talented quarterbacks in the 2012 draft.
