Cleveland Browns: Baker Mayfield snubbed for Offensive Rookie of the Year

You win some, and you lose some. And today, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield just barely lost out on the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

First reported by Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot, the NFL selected New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants as the NFL’s best offensive rookie, in perhaps the tightest race in years.

The award was well-deserved, no matter who took home the hardware. Barkley is just the third rookie ever to have over 2,000 scrimmage yards, joining the elite company of Eric Dickerson and Edgerrin James.
