CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Browns linebacker Chris Kirksey, one of the elder statesmen on the team in just his fourth season, is ready to welcome his old pal Josh Gordon back with open arms.
"When he gets back, it will be just like our brother came from out of town,'' Kirksey told cleveland.com on Tuesday, the day before Gordon was conditionally reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. "Hopefully he gets an opportunity to come back here and get a chance to play the game that he loves.''
Kirksey, who's stayed in touch with Gordon mostly on social media, is grateful that Goodell gave Gordon another chance despite the fact he's been suspended for 51 of the Browns' last 56 games for multiple violations of the Substance Abuse Policy.
