Browns sign safety Justin Currie to their practice squad

The Cleveland Browns announced they signed defensive back Justin Currie to their practice squad. In a corresponding move, they released wide receiver Rannell Hall from the squad.

Currie, a 6-foot-2, 212-pound safety out of Western Michigan was waived last week to make room for Josh Gordon’s return to the team’s active roster.

The rangy safety spent the entire offseason with the Browns, the first four weeks on the season on their practice squad, and he appeared in one game for them this season. Currie was signed to the team’s active roster on November 21 following Emmanuel Ogbah and Jamie Meder’s season-ending injuries.
