CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Browns trailed the Lions 17-10 at halftime on Sunday after missing a chance to tie the game in the final moments of the first half.
Facing first-and-goal at the Lions 2-yard line, quarterback DeShone Kizer took the snap and tried to run behind center JC Tretter. But the Lions were all over the play and Kizer was stopped for no gain. As the officials blew their whistles, the Browns players - knowing they were out of timeouts - hustled to get lined up. The Lions, meanwhile, took their time getting off the pile.
By the time the teams were lined up and Kizer tried to spike the ball, the block had expired.
