Early in training camp, the Cleveland Browns are already busy making moves out of necessity. With CB Martin Emerson Jr. heading to the injured reserve list and WR Michael Woods II waived with an injury designation on Wednesday, GM Andrew Berry has some roster spots to work with and needs for practice.
Thursday, a day off for the Browns, gave them a chance to bring in some players for workouts to fill those roles. None of the veteran cornerbacks that we mentioned as Emerson replacements were in. In fact, according to a report, the team brought in four wide receivers and just one cornerback for the workout:

A quick rundown on all five players:
- Cephus is a 27-year-old receiver who has played in 22 games, all for the Detroit Lions and accumulated 37 catches for 568 yards and four touchdowns
- Cota is a 25-year-old receiver who has been on four practice squads since finishing his career at Oregon in 2023, but has not seen the field in a regular-season game
- Dieke is a 6’5” receiver who was undrafted this year out of Elon where he played two seasons following three at UMass
- Fouonji is a 6’4” receiver who was also undrafted this year after finishing his career at Vanderbilt after four seasons at Texas Tech
- Isaac was the lone cornerback, according to the report, at the workout and has played seven games, all for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with 59 snaps on special teams
Berry is reportedly signing Cota to a deal following the workout:
The team has not confirmed the signing at this time.
