Browns quarterback Josh McCown said in a recent interview he believes free-agent running back Ray Rice would be welcomed in the locker room should the organization sign him a year after he viciously punched his fiancee-turned-wife in an Atlantic City casino elevator.
The NFL indefinitely suspended Rice and the Baltimore Ravens cut the former three-time Pro Bowler after video footage of his attack became public.
Rice has been out of work ever since, and Browns running backs coach Wilbert Montgomery publicly called out his players Aug. 9 because he believes none of them has shown a desire to win the starting job.
