CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Even when he's not playing, Joe Thomas is earning accolades. The Browns' left tackle, who is out for the season with a torn triceps, was announced as one of eight finalists for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award.
Each team in the NFL nominates one if its players for the award which recognizes those who best demonstrate the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition. The award was created in 2014.
The eight finalists were selected by a panel of former players from the NFL Legends Community and the winner is determined by a vote of current players.
