ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Browns hired John Dorsey as their next GM before he could interview for the Giants’ vacancy.
According to Schefter, Dorsey was scheduled to fly to New York this week to interview with the Giants on Tuesday and the Browns were aware of their interest. This ultimately contributed to the Browns’ decision to fire executive VP Sashi Brown and sign Dorsey to a four-year contract later on in the day.
The Giants have now shifted gears to other candidates including former Panthers GM Dave Gettleman, who multiple reports have said is an early favorite (NFLTR) to be hired by New York.
