As the Browns prepare to face rookie quarterback Carson Wentz in Sunday's regular-season opener on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles, they're well aware of the threat the second overall pick in this year's draft poses as a runner.
But they also know Wentz suffered a hairline fracture in his ribs Aug. 11 in the preseason opener, forcing him to sit out the final three exhibition games to let the injury heal.
"He can run. We know he's got the rib issues, so we hope he does run," Browns safety Jordan Poyer said Wednesday. "If he does, we've got to make him pay for it.
