Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the chasm between the Browns’ coaching staff and the front office has grown even deeper following the team’s failed attempt to trade for Bengals backup QB A.J. McCarron.
According to La Canfora, both team and league sources told him numerous coaches believe GM Sashi Brown had no intention of actually completing the agreed-upon trade before last week’s deadline.
The Browns were reportedly prepared to send the Bengals a second- and third-round pick for McCarron, but Cleveland failed to sign the paperwork or call the deal into the NFL before the deadline.
